RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

 

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

Accountant

 

Location: Crookston - Main Campus
Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hours/wk) - Hybrid position

Pay Range: $28.58 - $40.02/hourly (DOE)

Job Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly, benefitted position

 

 

RiverView Health has an opening for a full-time (80 hours every 2 weeks) Accountant in the Finance Department. The accountant is responsible for supporting the Director of Finance in all finance functions and activities that support the whole organization. Ability to work independently and possess self-directed motivation skills to establish priorities and manage workload.

 

Primary responsibilities include conducting general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors. Prepared general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts. Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits. Verifies and ensures accounts payable payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform audits and reviews. Files tax forms with federal, state and local government agencies.

 

Other responsibilities include preparing Corporate Account statements; maintaining financial records for the RiverView Foundation, Glenmore Foundation, and the RiverView Gift Shop; provide backup for payroll; and other tasks in the finance area as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum(s):

  • Associates degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in integrated accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

 

Preferred(s):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1+ years of progressive work experience in an accounting role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • CPA

  • Working knowledge of accounting standards

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
