RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

Location: Crookston (In-person)
Schedule: PRN - Flex
Scheduled hours: PRN (as needed)

Pay Range: $18.52 - $25.94; non-benefitted

 

 

River View Health has an opening for a PRN (casual) Laboratory Technical Assistant/Phlebotomist. This position would cover shifts between 6am-6pm and supports all Riverview Health patient care areas. 

  • Perform supportive laboratory functions
  • Serve patients by registering patients for laboratory testing, preparing specimens for laboratory testing and perform screening procedures
  • Responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, labelling them correctly and sending them off for analysis and testing. Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
  • Makes judgments regarding possible clerical discrepancies and brings them to the attention of a laboratory tech or the Director.
  • Patients serviced include those in the following age groups: infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric
  • Provides patient care which is appropriate to patient’s age, diagnosis, symptoms, provider orders, and following established policies and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum(s):

  • Diploma or GED
  • CPR – Healthcare Provider certification. If not currently certified, must be certified within 6 months of hire

Preferred(s):

  • Phlebotomy Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting
  • Computer experience – Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
