Responsibilities

Full-Time Mammography Technologist

 

Location: Riverview Hospital
Schedule: (1 FTE) - 80 hours per two-week pay period

Pay Range: $28.77 - $40.28; includes competitive benefits package

 

 

RiverView Health is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mammography Technologist to join our radiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mammographic imaging and ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) as well as overseeing quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures. This position requires advanced knowledge of mammography imaging protocols, patient care, and safety standards The Technologist will:

  • Perform high-quality mammography imaging and screening, following established protocols.
  • Assist in general radiology as needed, including x-rays or diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Ensure all mammography procedures comply with MQSA regulations and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly QC/QA tests as required, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and that all images meet required standards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mammography procedures, QC/QA results, and equipment maintenance in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide patient education, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with technological advancements in mammography and radiology.
  • Ensure proper operation and cleanliness of mammography equipment and imaging areas.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program is required.
  • Certifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Mammography (M) required. Current American Heart BLS and AED certifications. If not currently certified training will be provided and certifications must be obtained within 4 months from date of hire. 
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist with the ability to work independently is required.
    • Proven ability to handle all required documentation per regulatory standards, including MQSA compliance.
    • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with MQSA standards and documentation.
    • Experience with QC/QA procedures in a mammography setting
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in performing mammography examinations using state-of-the-art imaging technology.
    • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital mammography equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to patient safety and image quality.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Experience with 3D mammography 
    • Experience with advanced mammography procedures such as diagnostic mammograms, biopsies, and localization.
