RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

River View Health has an opening for a part-time (48 hours every 2 weeks) Patient Access Representative – Emergency Department.This position would cover shifts between11 p.m. – 7 a.m. in our Crookston Hospital and would have a weekend and holiday rotation. The Patient Access Representative:

  • Greets and registers patients while collecting and accurately entering all information required for visit.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.
  • Performs insurance verification either real time or manual verification for eligibility.
  • Performs point of service, collection of co-pays and other patient liability.
  • Obtains signatures for all necessary documents.
  • Safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for hospital switchboard, answering and transferring calls correctly
  • Responsible for overhead paging of emergency drills, emergency codes and other paging needs
  • Will be cross trained in other areas to support Patient Access team. 

 Salary range is $19.01 - $26.62 per hour and starting wage is dependent on experience and shift differential is paid for working evening or night shifts.  

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is required.
  • Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance preferred.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Positive personality and teamwork at all times are expected
