Patient Access Representative - Emergency Department

RiverView Health has an opening for a part-time (48 hours every 2 weeks) Patient Access Representative for the Emergency Department. The Patient Access Representative will perform all duties related to the pre-registration, registration, and financial clearance processes for all patients. Provides customer service to patients and orients patients to the registration process. Patient Access Representatives communicate directly with patients and families, physicians, nurses, insurance companies and is responsible for collecting all pertinent data as well as applicable co-pays upon presentation.  This person is also required to respond to a variety of Alarms and Codes and is mandated to follow proper procedures to ensure a timely response.  They are to do a Quick Registration on patients coming into the Emergency Department.  The position will work rotating evening and night shifts and includes working a weekend and a holiday rotation. Salary range is $17.60 - $24.64 per hour and starting wage is dependent on experience and shift differential is paid for working evening or night shifts. A sign on bonus is available. 

• Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is required.
• Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance preferred.
