RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

RiverView Health has an opening for a full-time (72 hours every 2 weeks) Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). The MLS/MLT is responsible for pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of testing, follows standard operating procedures for MLS/MLTs, ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met, recognizes safety hazards and complies with all safety practices and protocols, collects and processes lab specimens with proper equipment, performs clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods and collects and manages samples of blood and other fluids from patients.

 

Position will work rotating shifts, which includes working every third weekend and a holiday rotation. Salary range for MLS is $26.09 - $36.54 and MLT is $20.54 - $28.76. Starting salary is dependent on experience. 

Qualifications

  • MLS - Bachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences or equivalent required. MLT – Associate Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent required.
  • A current national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or be registry eligible is required. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 6 months of employment.
  • Current American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not certified upon hire training will be provided and certification must be obtained within 4 months from date of hire.
