    RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.


    RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

    RiverView Health has an opening for a full-time Director of Health Information Management (HIM). The Director of HIM is responsible for the facility-wide data integrity, privacy, and security.  This will be accomplished by the implementation of processes and systems to ensure accurate and complete medical record documentation; oversee coding staff to ensure accurate coding for reimbursement and clinical care; oversee ROI staff to ensure that all release of information are in compliance with request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA statutes; ensure compliance with state and federal laws and standards related to privacy, security, integrity, and record completion; prepare and analyze clinical data for process improvement, utilization management, mandatory reporting and more.


    The Director will hire and evaluate HIM staff, develop departmental goals and 90 day work plans that align with the organizational goals and strategies, and develops departmental budget.  


    • Current RHIT or RHIA certification required
    • 5 years HIM experience using an EMR system required
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Healthcare Administration preferred
    • 2 years management experience preferred
