    RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.


    RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

    RiverView Health has 2 full-time Paramedic openings (64 hours every 2 weeks) in our Emergency Department.

    These positions will work the 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. shift during the week and the 12 p.m. - 12 a.m. shift on the weekends will include working rotating holidays. The Paramedic provides safe and effective care for patient(s) within the scope of practice, in accordance with physician’s orders, established standards and administrative policies, as part of the health care team. The Paramedic will be proactive in providing a safe and secure environment for customers, visitors, team members and medical staff. They will respond to emergencies within the hospital and Crookston campus, perform patrols and escorts on hospital property, investigates calls for service, enforces administrative rules and serves as a department liaison to hospital, ancillary departments and other customers and secures and verifies the helipad and assists in patient preparation for transfer via ground or air as directed.


    • Requires current licensure as a Paramedic in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position and must hold national registry status as a Paramedic. If the Individual does not hold the required state license upon hire, the individual must obtain the license(s) within 30 days of hire. Completion of an accredited Paramedic Training Program required for licensing.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience as Paramedic is required.
    • Must have a thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques, knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise. Communication and knowledge of de-escalation techniques a must.
    • Position requires current American Heart BLS, PALS and ACLS certification. If not PALS certified must obtain within first 4 months of employment.
