    RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.


    RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

    RiverView Health has an opening for a part-time (32 hours every 2 weeks) Clinic Patient Access Representative. The Representative is responsible to answer the phones, schedule patients, greet the patient and verify scheduled appointments, register patients both pre-scheduled and walk ins and collects and enters all information required to check into the system, perform positive identification of patients including insurance card, identification card and photo ID, perform system insurance verification either real time electron or manual verification for eligibility, check and ensure financial liability is discussed and understood by the patient at point of registration, perform collection at point of service of all monies rightfully due to RiverView Health, determine the need for financial counseling and refers the patient to a Financial Counselor as necessary, obtain signatures for all necessary documents, assist patients in activating MyChart in Epic and safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.


    • Work experience in Patient Access field and a minimum two(2) years of customer service experience.
    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance preferred
    • Ability to demonstrate genuine concern for patients and patient satisfaction
    • Ability to manage and efficiently complete multiple tasks on time
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Critical thinker, resourceful and self-starter
    • Proficient in the use of PC’s.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment
