RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

 

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

RiverView Health has an opening for an on-call Occupational Therapist Assistant. The Occupational Therapist Assistant is a clinically competent and licensed professional of who provides treatment for residents/patients under the occupational therapy plan of care as established by the therapist. Effectively and professionally interacts with residents/patients, family members, responsible party and other health care team members while maintaining RiverView Health standards of behavior guidelines. Complies with regulatory standards of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Department of Health, and any other professional guidelines or standards. Settings may include inpatient, skilled nursing facility, sub-acute care, outpatient care, home care, and other contracted facilities.   Completes treatments with people of all ages from pediatrics to geriatric patients.

 

  • Perform specific assessment components of treatment and report findings to occupational therapist (i.e. ADL or cognitive assessments).  
  • Provides treatments to meet individual’s needs (physical, cultural, and psychosocial) per plan of care.
  • Respond promptly to acute changes in resident’s/patient’s physiological state and report to occupational therapist; modify or adjust treatment plan within limits of the plan of care.  
  • Communicate resident/patient progress and response to treatment effectively with supervising therapist and other interdisciplinary staff members.         
  • Patient/Resident/Family education: Plans for and provides resident, patient, family and caregiver education, identifies learning needs, clearly communicates information and documents response to education provided.          
  • Document and complete billing according to current standards and policies.          
  • Discharge Planning: Plans for resident/patient discharge, anticipates long term and short term resident/patient needs, collaborate with interdisciplinary team and make recommendations for discharge to occupational therapist.            
  • Professional Growth: Attends meetings, workshops, seminars and participates in committees as requested/required by facility.          
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.              
  • Assists in maintenance of equipment, tools, supplies and inventory.

Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, which is in good standing.
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate Degree is required.
  • American Heart CPR certification is required.
