Overview

RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

 

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

 

  • Analytical responsibility for credentialing information on initial appointments, reappointments and all other requests that are within the scope of the medical staff bylaws.
  • Oversees, develops, and maintains database programs and files for credentialing.
  • Responsible for/assures reappointment process is initiated for each practitioner.
  • Ensure that all personnel and services adhere to facility and staff policies, department guidelines, regulations, and government laws
  • Process applications and reappointment paperwork
  • Maintain close communication with all appropriate practitioners to ensure that records are up-to-date and consistent
  • Process privilege request for healthcare employees.
  • Accountable for presentation of completed files to the Credentials Committee for recommendation of approval on all initial appointment and reappointments to include other actions in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws and all applicable hospital and medical staff policies to ensure the compliance with stated parameters for the Medical Staff office.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all regulatory, state and federal laws pertaining to the Medical Staff and apply them to the credentialing processes as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation process for all initial appointments and any newly granted privileges.
  •  Responsible for maintain provider enrollment with insurance companies

Qualifications

  • .8 status (64 hours per pay period)
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent
  • Preferred: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist
