Overview

RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

 

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

This is position full-time (80 hours every 2 weeks) and requires every third weekend scheduled shift covering CT/X-ray.  The weekly Monday-Friday hours are typically between 8am-5pm some extended coverage to 630pm will be required.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Ensures operation of MRI equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains MRI supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and /or; reviewing professional publications and / or; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with RiverView’s procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing timely explanations of treatment; answering or finding the answers to all patient questions.
  • Prepares patient for MRI procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to obtain optimal images.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
  • Maintains production and quality of MRI images by following established standards and procedures; processing images; observing MRI results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Appropriate use of the electronic medical record to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Under guidance of RiverView Radiologist Group, administers contrast agents according to RiverView site-specific protocols.

 

 

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Required: To be a graduate from an approved/accredited school for Radiologic Technology.
  • Required: To have BLS for Healthcare Providers and be CPR and AED certified.
  • Required: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T. (R) (ARRT)
  • Preferred: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists  (MR)

Experience

  • Required: Documented clinical experience and or on the Job Training
  • Preferred: One year as a registered working Radiologic Technologist
  • Preferred : One year as a working CT technologist
  • Preferred: Two Years of MRI Experience
