RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

 

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 24 bed hospital attached memory care skilled nursing facility, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

The Polysomnographic Technologist selects evaluation and assessment methods and ensures that the health history is completed; applies electrodes and sensors and performs appropriate physiologic calibrations; follows procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data and follows “lights out” procedure to establish and document baseline values; performs polysomnographic data acquisition and document routine observations to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results; implements appropriate interventions and performs routine positive airway pressure (PAP); provides appropriate patient education; identifies significant changes or high risk situations; prepares and calibrates equipment, follows “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process. Disassembles, cleans and assembles Sleep Disorders Center equipment and processes patient charges. Patients cared for include those in the following age groups: adolescents, adults and geriatric. Effectively and professionally interacts with patients, family members, responsible party and other health care team members, while maintaining RiverView Health’s Standards of Behavior guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or within one year of hire.
  • Current ACLS and CPR certification
